Author-ade

A manuscript submissions aid for literary authors enabling quick and easy mail-shot submissions to 139 UK contacts.

You need perseverance to make it as an author, constantly sending off manuscripts until you finally find that agent or publisher interested in your work. Author-ade was created by a writer tired of copying out names and addresses for each of these submissions, who created a database to do much of that work automatically, and decided other author's would want this tool too. Author-ade provides a database of contacts in the UK with 77 literary agents and 62 publishers, with tools for selecting those to submit a particular manuscript to. The included templates offer a quick way to print out letters and envelopes to these selected contacts, saving many hours of work.

There is a free trial version with 10 agent and publisher contacts for you to test and see for yourself how easy it is to produce submission mail-shots. At only £5 Author-ade represents excellent value, a tool no author applying to UK publishers and agents should be without.

System Requirements : You need a Windows PC with 2MB free Hard Disk space, and a copy of Microsoft Office 2000 or later. Author-ade uses a Microsoft Access Database and Microsoft Word documents.

Free Font Library

340 fonts with a management tool to make using them efficient and convenient, all for free!

Club newsletter, family website, projects for school, party invitations, digital scrapbooks - almost all creative endeavours need the right font to set them off and make a good piece of work great. There are some wonderfully generous people sharing free fonts on the internet and if you have the time, you can build up a big library. But there are a few problems with this. For one, it takes a lot of time. For another, installing all those fonts takes up resources on your computer, and they're not very convenient - having to scroll through a list of hundreds or thousands of fonts to find one you want is far from ideal! And finally, a number of free font websites actually provide copyrighted fonts illegally, disrespecting the hard work of the companies and individuals that created them.

What would be really nice is a simple package to download and install, with a collection of varied fonts for all occasions and a font manager that allows you to install only the fonts you want for each project. It would be even nicer if this package sorted the fonts into categories to make selecting the right one easier, and provided simple documentation on how to use it and expand your font library. And that's just what Software Geezers have done!

The Free Font Library comes with all this. It is a collection of a freeware font manager (The Font Thing) and freeware fonts in a balanced collection; artistic, whacky, pictographic, historic, and more. Special consideration has been made for school use too, including such fonts as Egyptian Hieroglyphics and other historic languages while making sure there's no inappropriate material. Our own documentation explains how to use the software to best effect with tutorials including how to expand your own library with more free fonts. We believe it is the quickest, easiest, most effective way to jump-start your font collection available on the internet for free.

System Requirements : You need a Windows PC with 26MB free Hard Disk space (at least 24 MB free on drive C:) for the program.
